My name is Shana, and I am addicted to fabric! I think my Blog name covers that statement rather well. I began quilting in 1994 when I made a lap size Rail Fence quilt in a class at Church, I was hooked from that point on. Sadly, the quilt has been loved to death and has been put to rest. I made a few more quilts after that and then in 2001 I purchased a Gammill Longarm Machine. I knew absolutely nothing about machine quilting and had 2 days to learn it all before I had to start quilting for money to pay for the machine. I look back now and some of those first quilts are horribad, but back then I thought they were "art", hehe. Thankfully, over the course of the next 8 years, I got much better. In 2009, after a brief stint with a rare skin cancer, I decided to sell my machine. Luckily, she went to live at my BFF Carol's house, and with a promise from me to visit often, she wasn't too far away.
Fast forward to now, I have a new husband, and terrific new stepson and we have moved to Paradise! I have the time and the desire to spend quilting on my projects for a change and look forward to sharing with you. As I figure out blogger a little better, I will add more pics to the site.
I am currently working on a Log Cabin Quilt for my oldest daughter Katee, who is getting married on the 26th of this month. She and her fiance have a Superhero theme for their wedding, so I made the quilt in reds and royal blues for Superman and Wonder Woman, and laid it out in the Streaks of Lightning pattern. It is looking pretty cool, if I do say so myself! Well, I am off to work on the quilt and will talk with you all soon.
